DDoS... is wrong with MindForge? I'll tell you the bitter truth. The lazy Ops here do not pay their server fees and that's why our hosters shut us down ... :p

Sadly this is not true as it would be too easy to fix. Currently all our boxes are under a severe DDOS attack. For the interested reader this Wikipedia article describes DDOS attacks comprehensively but to cut it short, it just means our servers are drowned in crappy traffic until their bandwidth is full and they stop responding.

"So, why don't you stop this attack or filter the crappy traffic" you may ask. The answer is simple: "We can't".
Someone called DDOS attacks the nuclear bomb of the internet and simple servers do not really have the means to defend themselves against this attack. Only the server hosters can do something about it, but most of the time the best thing they do, is to take down your server so that the attack has no target anymore. Doesn't really help us as then we don't have a server anymore for you to connect.

As we do not have any clue about the motivation of this attack, all we can do at the moment is waiting until it stops. I know, this is unsatisfactory for you and for us. So, thanks a lot for holding out with us and for your dedication to MindForge.

Note on the comments:

What was my purpose of the writing above?
It is about MindForge getting DDOSed from an unknown source. The text is there to clarify that we cannot really do something about it and to apologize for the inconvenience it causes our dear users.

What is it now?
Now the comment system is abused for a personal flame ware between some MindForge team members and some users on our network.
This is neither the idea of the comment system nor the right place to dispute such things. More so (this is my own personal opinion now) it is sad to see that we have such an escalated discussion in the first place. From what I read and from what I got translated, I insistently ask all participants to return to a more civil and calm discussion. Towards a discussion that is aimed at solving things and not getting things worse.
Therefore I now disable the comment system until further notcie.

Best regards,

Monk
