MindForge IrcOp Rules

IrcOp rule 1

Akills and G-lines - grounds are: Spam, Flood, Harassing, Hate, Flaming, Offensive, Obscene, Racist or otherwise Denigrating behavior.

IrcOp rule 2

Kill and G-line scripts - simple, with a short specific reason for the Kill/G-line. Such sanctions are to be handled with care. The general rule is to warn on first offence and Kill/G-Line on second offence.

IrcOp rule 3

No derogatory remarks about users. Users are entitled to the same respect as IrcOps. No flaunting of IrcOp power with "Whois" notification scripts. In case of abusing IrcOp powers to enforce channel topics or power-playing on a channel level, IrcOp status will be suspended after the first warning.

IrcOp rule 4

No comments to/about other IrcOps or Helper performance in public channel - keep it in #IrcOps; if a non-status Helper is not allowed in #IrcOps, then notice them to pm or invite them to designated channel for Ircops/Helpers. Speak English as common language in #IrcOps channel.

IrcOp rule 5

Channel takeovers and Nick grabbing: These events may require a quick response but are subject to well thought out and responsible IrcOp action. Some form of proof like logs, Chan and Nick info, email address ... etc. must be shown and checked in #IrcOps beforehand.

IrcOp rule 6

Channel forbids and suspends: Closing down a channel requires at least two IrcOps to look over it and agree that the channel should be closed. It is mandatory to show and check evidence of abuse or network rule violation, and to post it in the forum for future reference. Apart from bot-net channels a common rule of thumb is to think twice before closing down a channel.

IrcOp rule 7

Globals to be used strictly for network information (no commercial advertising, no website spam, no personal messages). Any posting or relaying of internal information to public channels or users outside the network team will result in immediate suspension of the team member in question.

IrcOp rule 8

Make a User's stay as pleasant as possible. IRC is supposed to be fun !
