- Download OpenSSL for Windows. For most users the "Win32 OpenSSL vX.XX Light" version will be the correct one
- Install the OpenSSL package you just downloaded. During the install be sure to choose the correct location for the OpenSSL DLLs:

- Open the Options (Alt + O) in mIRC and go to Connect --> Options. If the installation went well you should see a new SSL button

- Still in Options navigate to Connect --> Servers and use the Add Button to add a new server. Use the following data:
Description: MindForge SSL IRC Server: irc.mindforge.org Ports: +6697

- Connect to MindForge with a double click on the newly created server. First thing that will pop up is the following warning:

Just accept the warning. The "Unable to get local issuer certificate" warning just means that you do not have a root certificate installed in mIRC.
In the snotices log you will find something like this: 22:19:24 :: *** Looking up your hostname... 22:19:24 :: *** Found your hostname 22:19:25 :: *** You are connected to Neuromancer.MindForge.org with TLSv1-AES256-SHA-256bits
